About Us

This Society was established by a group of local people in 1996. A small committee of volunteers arranges monthly talks throughout the winter on a range of topics related in some way to the history of the area. During the summer months several visits are arranged to places of historical interest. A Welsh language lecture is held around 1st March each year. The A.G.M is held in late March each year.

  1. I would like to offer my thanks, as a guest, to the gentleman speaking about the Green man, last night. There was a lot of information that none of us had realised before and it was clear that a lot of research had gone into the talk. It's a shame that I could continue to speak about the significance of the Green Man today, but sadly that's not history! Please do let him know that he had 5 practising witches at his talk and that we all greatly enjoyed the talk - Fiona
